Seismic activities inclining downward from the upper right to the lower left in figure A and those inclining downward from the upper left to the lower right in figure B are occurring along the subducting Philippine Sea Plate. From the distribution of these earthquakes, it is apparent that the Philippine Sea Plate is subducting under the Kinki region.
