8-2 Examples of destructive earthquakes in the Chugoku-Shikoku region

In this section, we will discuss the 1854 Ansei Nankai Earthquake and the 1946 Nankai Earthquake as examples of great earthquakes along the Nankai Trough, the 1943 Tottori Earthquake as an example of an earthquake in a shallow location on land, and the 1905 Geiyo Earthquake as an example of a destructive earthquake in the western part of the Seto Inland Sea.
